Reality is relational.

What if freedom is not the absence of friction?

What if reality is not something we create alone, but something we enter into relationship with?

We live inside systems that increasingly predict us, personalize for us, deliver to us, and reflect us back to ourselves.

And slowly, almost invisibly, we can begin to mistake that reflection for reality.

But reality has movement of its own.

It interrupts us. It surprises us. It asks something of us. It brings us into contact with what is not us.

Another person. Another body. Another will. Another way of seeing.

A dancer knows that balance does not come from eliminating resistance. You turn because the floor pushes back.

You stay upright because opposing forces remain in conversation. Maybe we are like that too.

Maybe being alive means remaining responsive enough to be changed by what we encounter.

Not disappearing into another person. Not forcing the world to mirror us. Not surrendering our agency.

Participating.

This is what I mean by Ensouling.

Learning to notice the structures we are living inside. Learning where our attention has been captured. Learning where the world has become too perfectly reflective.

And reopening the space where reality can answer us back.

Because perhaps the soul is not something we possess. Perhaps it is something that becomes visible in relationship — in the space between what we already know and what we are still willing to meet.
